Tobacco smoking has been around for centuries; our great grandfathers had their smoking fit and smoked tobacco whenever they feel like it. Smoking has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry and continues to thrive up to now.
On the other hand, Hon Lik invented a marketable electronic cigarette in 2003, which is eating up a share of the market that tobacco used to monopolize.
Even we at TVB agrees that vaping isn’t 100% safe and it may have negative effects to the body. Still, we know for a fact that it is a lot safer than smoking traditional cigarettes.
Enough of the opinions though, we’ll be sharing facts from recent studies and you yourself can decide if vaping is just the same as smoking.
Most anti-vaping groups say that the nicotine found in your e-liquid poses the same risk as that of cigarettes, which isn’t true. Nicotine, on small doses, is just as harmful to your body as caffeine. Tar, carbon monoxide, and thousands of other chemicals found in cigarettes cause lung diseases, not nicotine. If it was harmful, public health advocates wouldn’t let you eat tomatoes, since it contains almost everything that you’ll find in your e-liquid, including nicotine.
According to the American Association of Public Health Phyisicians (AAPH), “Substances in the cigarette smoke, other than the nicotine, inhaled deep into the lung, cause most of the tobacco-attributable illness and death in the United States.”
As a matter of fact, the AAPHP even recommends vaping as a safer alternative to tobacco products.
Some groups say that vaping is a gateway to smoking and drug addiction, which absolutely isn’t true. There is no confirmed case of a vaper suddenly switching to heroin or crack, which could have been ridiculous. Too bad.
Do not let the media fool you. In today’s world, big corporations control the media in order to preserve their business interest. Half of the news and “studies” that you’ll see on the news are botched studies that tells half of the story. Vaping has no proven adverse effects on the body, and costs a lot cheaper compared to smoking.
